ART (or an attempt at it)
These are some of my tries at drawing and photo manipulation on my computer. I haven't been doing it long so I won't try and defend the quality. My brother Sam was an artist and made some really interesting things over the years. Dad liked to do oil painting and design things. I always wonder what he could have done with a computer and Photoshop. So, artistic talent runs in the family. It included musical talent too, but not very deep. Maybe I'll include some somewhere else.
Here are some of my attempts at art. Some are simple, some took a while. There are some logos mixed in and shirt designs. If you want to see other art, some quite good. check out deviantArt. The title soes fit for some of the art. but some of it is quite creative and beautiful. You can find whatever type of art you like there. Well worth a little browsing time.
The animated logo below repeats after 3 seconds so if you missed part of it it does play again.

Below are some other "Art Works", logos and card designs I've done for myself and others. Not all of them were actually used but I always tried to make a variety.

MotherLode logo
This was the second logo I designed for a band my friend Bruce Davis had started. The first one was for the band Rock-N-Horse but I haven't found a copy of that yet. MotherLode (the band from Palmdale, there were many others) was Bruce Davis, Allen Cummins, Marie Layne, Tony Capco, and Mark Lawrence. The members changed over time like all bands but these were the most memorable. And for those that question it, yes it was all one word and yes the L is supposed to be capitalized. It was a band logo and we thought it gave it a few different connotations. I liked it though because Bruce and I met because we both were prospectors looking for the gold. They sang and played so well together that I was hoping one day it would be in the form of an album, but I found that it's hard for creative people to get along for very long. They all have their own vision and ego.
Nyourface Productions (in your face) was originally started back in 1990 when I started my first web page for the band MotherLode. I had grand plans for designing web pages, video productions, graphic arts, t-shirt design, and photo retouching. Though I still design t-shirts, do photo retouching, build and maintain web pages on occasion, attempt graphic arts and retouch a photo here and there, very little of it makes much money. Now there are a few others who have started to use the Nyourface Productions name but we don't seem to be in conflict with each other so I don't worry about it. Most of these are things I do for fun as much as money though an extra dollar here and there does help. I have also started to use one similar to this,
Myourface (my our your face). The name was originally a mistake, but I started to like it. Need to start working on the logo for that one. Here are a couple of the latest business cards and the design for the Local Bands web page.

Shirts
Here are some shirts I've made before. I didn't make up what they say. The "I'm with stupid" shirt is taken from one of the Dean Koontz book Forever Odd. I don't think the saying was his but the direction of the arrow may be. The "Ask Me Anything" shirt was taken from one I got for entering a Popular Mechanics contest. I got so many total strangers wanking up and asking odd questions out of the blue that when it wore out I had to design another. They are both great conversation pieces so if you want one of your own just copy them, flip them and print them on a shirt of your choice. If you want something else for a shirt just ask. I like making them. The next two are a pair and are taken from the book series by Terry Goodkind.
The next two are a pair, front and back, of a saying I made up. If you're like me and you sing along to all your favorite songs even when people wish you wouldn't then you understand this one.
The next pair are from a song on one of Peter Klimes cd's. Growing up where so many films were shot and having seen so many actors and film crews, and even knowing a few, not to mention the bands (hasn't every body been in one?) the line seemed appropriate. Life is an act. I guess if you put that with the two above then life is a musical. (nah...I don't think so).
But we all play our parts and most of us like the spotlight.

Earthlings
This is one of the latest. This isn't what we look like really, but earthlings are rather weird looking ... only two eyes and arms instead of the standard three.
Moose head shirts
This was the first of many shirts for the local Moose lodge. I take a picture of the member and then insert it where mine is. They're gaining in popularity.
The next 3 were made for the band The Usual Suspects. So far, one of the most popular shirt designs.
And just my luck, and if you know my luck you know why I am sorry to announce...
A week after I made the shirt the band split up. This used to always happen when I would take promo pictures for the band MotherLode. If I took pictures someone in the band would quit before the pictures could be used. It looks like the curse of the photographer is still alive and well. Sorry guys.
Here's some good news though. Below is the logo for the newest band with Richard Dockus as the lead singer. Get out and see them when you can. 8/26/2017 Okay, I haven't done an update in quite a while. The logo below never got used for the band as the "new" band used the old name... sort of. They started again as just The Suspects. A different lineup of members. But as always the egos got in the way. You can't be a musician without some ego, but you can't stay a band unless you control them. These days Richard is working with some new players. I have yet to see or hear them but I'll post the newest band logo when (if they want me to) I design it.
